DECEIVER Part Ways With Singer
August 10, 2005DECEIVER, the Swedish metal band featuring former members of MAZE OF TORMENT and XENOFANES, have parted ways with vocalist Destormo "due to other commitments." "Instead of finding a new member, Pete Flesh (guitar) will take over that duty," the band write in a press release.
The group, who released their full-length debut, "Riding with the Reaper", earlier in the year via Iron Fist Productions, have finished laying down a new two-track "test demo" featuring the songs "Fucking Chaos" and "Certain to Die in Forceful Fire". The demo, which offers a taste of the material that will appear on the group's sophomore album, tentatively due in June 2006, can be downloaded from the band's official web site, Deceiver.tk.
"Riding with the Reaper" was recorded over a one-week period at the Abyss studio with producer Tommy Tägtgren. It is the follow-up to DECEIVER's self-titled debut mini-CD, which came out in the summer of 2004. The EP, which features five songs recorded at Abyss with Tommy Tägtgren, was previously said to appeal to "fans of old stuff such as MOTÖRHEAD, MERCYFUL FATE, VENOM, METALLICA and JUDAS PRIEST."
